The Great Tyrant waren eine dreiköpfige Experimental Rockband aus Texas, die ein komplettes Album und diverse erfolgreiche Singles auf den Markt gebracht hat. Am Vorabend des Abschlusses ihres zweiten Albums "The trouble with being born" verstarb ihr Bassist Tommy Wayne Atkins unerwartet. Die Band machte daraufhin als Pinkish Black weiter und "The trouble wiht being born" sollte nicht veröffentlicht werden: Bis heute.
