In diesem Jahr feiert das Debüt-Album Ramones, das vom Rolling Stone (US) zum „größten Punk-Album aller Zeiten“ ernannt wurde und in der Tat eines der wichtigsten und einflussreichsten Alben des Rock ist, seinen 40. Geburtstag. Das nur 29 Minuten lange Meisterwerk trat in Amerika und in England die Punkrock-Szene los und inspirierte unzählige andere Künstler in allen nachfolgenden Generationen bis heute. Um diesen dauerhaften Einfluss zu würdigen, schuf Rhino nun den ultimativen Tribut an das Album, der überdies mit einem 30x30 cm großen Hardcover-Book ausgestattet ist. Die 3CD/1Vinyl-Box ist auf weltweit 19.760 (wie im Jahr 1976) individuell nummerierte Exemplare limitiert und enthält eine im Remastering optimierte Stereo-Version sowie einen akribisch nachempfundenen Mono-Mix des Albums. Außerdem gibt es jede Menge Raritäten, bisher unveröffentlichte Demos und eine unveröffentlichte Live-Show. All das wurde produziert, gemischt und gemastert von Craig Leon, dem ursprünglichen Produzenten des Albums. Neben der Musik gibt es ausführliche Notizen von Leon zur Produktion des Originalalbums, einen Essay von Rockjournalist Mitchell Cohen über die frühen Tage der RAMONES und zusätzliche Fotos von Roberta Bayley, deren zur Ikone gewordenes Bandfoto das Albumcover schmückte.
CD 1 enthält die neu gemasterte Stereoversion des Albums und den Monomix.
CD 2 präsentiert Single-Mixe, Outtakes und Demos. Einige dieser Aufnahmen wurden nie veröffentlicht, darunter die Demos zu I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, 53rd and 3 rd und Loudmouth.
CD 3 präsentiert zwei komplette Live-Konzerte im The Roxy in West Hollywood vom 12. August 1976. Das erste Set dieses Abends wurde bereits veröffentlicht, doch das zweite Set erscheint nun zum ersten Mal!
