Jethro Tull "Under Wraps: The Unwrapped Edition" vereint zwei der ehrgeizigsten und furchtlosesten Alben von Ian Anderson - das Jethro-Tull-Album "Under Wraps" von 1984 und sein 1983 veröffentlichtes Solo-Debütalbum "Walk Into The Light".

Diese beiden Alben sind in Ian Andersons umfangreichem Werk von großer Bedeutung und markieren eine deutliche Abkehr vom etablierten Jethro Tull-Sound. Anderson, der bereits als einer der innovativsten Songschreiber seiner Generation galt, setzte auf modernste Technologie und integrierte Synthesizer und Drumcomputer. Damit entfernte sich die Band deutlich von ihren traditionellen Folk-Wurzeln und bewies, dass sie in der Lage war, sich der sich wandelnden Musiklandschaft anzupassen.

Dieses umfassende 5-CD & Blu-Ray Set wurde von Ian Anderson betreut und enthält die beiden Originalalben, die zweimal von Bruce Soord neu abgemischt wurden - "2026 Drums"- und "Original Drums"-Remixe. Diese Discs enthalten auch zugehörige Aufnahmen aus dieser Zeit. Die fünfte CD ist eine Live-Aufnahme von einem BBC Radio 1-Konzert im Hammersmith Odeon im Jahr 1984 und die Blu-Ray enthält Stereo- und DOLBY ATMOS-Mixe sowie Promo-Videos aus dieser Zeit. Das Set wird mit einem 100-seitigen Buch geliefert, das einen ausführlichen Artikel über die Entstehung der Platten enthält.

Zusätzlich ist "Walk Into The Light" als Single-Vinyl mit Bruce Soords 2026 Drums Remix erhältlich und enthält ein eigenes Booklet.

"Walk Into Light" kombiniert ausgefeilte, hochmoderne Elektro-Pop-Songs mit den für die Band typischen pointierten und kompromisslosen soziologischen Textbeobachtungen. Dieses Album war eine mutige Neuerfindung einer etablierten Identität - entstanden in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Keyboarder Peter-John Vetesse - und spiegelte Andersons wachsende Faszination für das moderne Leben, Technologie und Isolation wider.
