Das achte WHITESNAKE-Album wurde ihr drittes Platin-Album in Folge: "Slip Of The Tongue". Im November 1989 veröffentlicht, eroberte es dank zweier Top-40 Hits, Fool For Your Loving und The Deeper The Love, die Top-10 im UK und in den USA sowie die Top-20 in Deutschland. In diesem Jahr wird das von den Fans geliebte Album 30 Jahre alt!

Diese 'Slip Of The Tongue: 30th Anniversary'- Edition kommt als umfangreiches 6 CD+ DVD-Fan-Package und enthält eine vollständig remasterte Version des Albums sowie bisher unveröffentlichte Studioaufnahmen, einen Mitschnitt des Gigs beim 1990er Monsters of Rock-Festival in Bild und Ton und ein brandneues Interview mit Bandgründer David Coverdale. Es erscheint als 60 Seiten starkes, gebundenes Buch mit seltenen Erinnerungen aus dieser Ära.

Das Boxset kommt mit unveröffentlichten Versionen von jedem Albumtrack sowie Monitor-Mixe, die 1989 für das Album aufgenommen wurden. Zusätzlich enthält die Sammlung fast zwei Dutzend bisher unveröffentlichte Tracks, die aus den Session-Tapes stammen und verschiedene Stadien und Arbeitsversionen der Albumtracks.

'Slip Of The Tongue: 30th Anniversary Edition schließt sozusagen monströs ab: Mit dem Mitschnitt von WHITESNAKEs Headlining Performance auf dem Monsters Of Rock–Festival auf Castle Donington, der sich als reines Audio auf CD und als Audio/Video auf der DVD befindet. Die DVD enthält zudem drei Musikvideos, die alle akribisch restauriert und zum allerersten Mal im 5.1 Surround-Sound remixt wurden. Ein neues Promo-Video zum Track Sweet Lady Luck, das extra zu diesem Set angefertigt wurde, ein „Behind The Scenes“ zur Entstehung des Albums und ein aktuelles Interview mit Coverdale und Vandenberg rundet die DVD perfekt ab.
